The Journey of a 1000 miles begins with the first step.

Sometimes, when we look at the chaos and suffering brought before our eyes, it’s hard to believe that we can make a positive impact. There’s just so much doom and gloom everywhere, in the media, in our personal lives, in the political situations and in natural disasters. Yet, while bringing order into the chaos or alleviating suffering on a grand scale may be out of our immediate reach, there are small but profound things we can do to help make the world a better place.

Yoga is one such thing. Practicing yoga helps us become an island of calm for those around us, maybe not consistently, but often enough to make a difference. TEACHING yoga, that is sharing what yoga means to us and has done for us, multiplies the effects of our practice.

If you would like to make a difference, consider becoming a yoga teacher. It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself, for those you love, and for the planet.

At Sunshine Yoga, we offer a wonderfully inclusive yoga teacher training, respecting the roots of yoga as well as the beautiful variety of the practice.

On Saturday 18 May at 11am, we will hold an open event with graduate teachers at The Elephant Moon Space within The Eco Larder on 200 Morrison Street, to answer any questions you may have.

Here are some words shared from graduates already…

“Sunshine Yoga is a nourishing place to be. I have chosen to complete my YTT with them and they have met my expectations and more. You can be sure that your YTT will not only provide you with an in-depth knowledge about all aspects of yoga, but will also be a transformational journey for your yoga practice on and off the mat. The support throughout the course was immense with a very individual approach. Wholeheartedly recommended!” – Olga Kay

“The Chandra yoga teacher training was an amazing way for me to learn more about yoga, something which I have enjoyed and dipped in and out of over the years. I first thought about doing it even just so I could learn more about yoga and go deeper into the practice as I sensed that yoga classes were just the tip of the iceberg when it came to everything that yoga has to offer.

I was right and I am very grateful that I chose sunshine yoga, it was a fantastic environment where I felt safe and valued as I learnt more about yoga and myself! I would highly recommend this teacher training as it really prepares you to have the confidence to teach especially as Matt and Stephanie run community classes where you can practise your skills with less pressure! It is such a nurturing and fun space to be a part of.

Even if you don’t plan on becoming a teacher yourself, this training really gives you the skills to develop a solid home practise of yoga and meditation, something I think everyone could do with a little more of in their lives.” – Eilidh Scott Dickins
